My Bio
I am a barbarian artist, in that I am not professionally taught. I am more influenced by American cartooning styles of old, guys like Alex Raymond (Flash Gordon), Dick Calkins (Buck Rogers), or Chester Gould (Dick Tracy. I realize he was kind of a right - wing dick, but Gould was a hell of a cartoonist.) than Manga or any of those styles. I am influenced also by a lot of the pop - art movements of the late 50's and 60's as well,in addition to Frank Frazetta,so I more or less combine those in my art. I am more than likely going to take some classes to perfect this style, but I want only my own style. I am a firm believer that comic art shouldn't be rooted in realism, it is not reality. This is why Ed McGuiness in my favorite, but I do love Jim Lee a lot.

I am primarily a penciller, and I don't have a lot of the expensive materials and all that shit that pros have, so a lot of the color stuff doesn't look all that great. It's still fun, so that i why I do it at the moment.

I am working on an online comic, a couple of very subversive ones. More on that, as it is a long term project, very time - consuming, and I don't have that in multitudes.

SUPERMAN

In the age of populism and such, which I have bitched about numerous times, and corporate oppression, etc, etc, I picked up a couple of issues of Superman - related comics the past couple of days. DC Comics ( Yes, a subsidiary of Time/Warner.) has been relaunching new, improved reboots of their characters (Batman hasn't been affected that much. He IS the top seller after all. ) for a new generation, risking alienating the already loyal fans. Their argument is that if you'd be more loyal, our sales wouldn't be dipping. Not a bad point, but it's still a gamble. Well, Action Comics #1 appeard in June of 1938, with a Superman smashing a car int

I am behind, I know. I haven't been this active for summer movies in a long time, but this was a pretty decent summer for movies when it comes to popcorn fare. I haven't seen Cowboys & Aliens yet, will probably wait on that, and would really like to see The Planet Of The Apes prequel. Here you go -- 1) Captain America - This one was just a LOT of fun, and a good representation of the character. It used elements of both the Regular and Ultimate continuities of the Marvel Universe, yet seemed almost like a Golden Age Captain America story. Created in 1942 by Joe Simon And Jack Kirby (Not Stan Lee), Captain America was the story of Steve Roger

I was going to wait until after I saw Captain America before writing this, but I have taken in all 4 of the superhero movies thus far ( The Green Hornet, Thor, X - Men: First Class, and Green Lantern ) and felt like telling you which is the best so far, mainly because the one I look forward to the most is Captain America, and hope it stands apart. Before going on to tell you which one I rate the highest thus far, I wish to discuss what makes these characters great, as they are from different comic book companies (Marvel & DC, respectively. GH now appears via Dynamic Forces comics. He was a radio character first, and his latest incarnation is
